Alveoli have balloon like structure which maximizes the surface area for gaseous exchange and also they are richly supplied by blood vessels for the better diffusion process.

♤ The bronchioles terminate in the balloon like structure called alveoli.

♤ The alveoli present in the lungs provide maximum surface for exchange of gases.
