The Chief Justice of the High Court is appointed by the President of India after consultation with the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court (CJI) and the Governor of that state. Other judges of the High Court are appointed by the President after consulting the Chief Justice of the High Court of that state and the Governor of that state.
To become a High Court Judge, one must have at least 7 years of advocacy experience in any court of India and only those lawyers can apply to become High Court judges who are currently advocating.
