Unicellular organisms reproduce asexually, same genetic makeup of next generation. While reproduction in multicellular organisms is sexual type in which two male and female gametes are produced which unite together by fertilization and deveop into zygote and organisms of next generation which vary in their genetic makeup. Hope it helps.
