acceleration is the rate of change of velocity per unit time. it is a vector quantity. SI unit of acceleration is m/s².

And When an athlete runs in a circular track his direction changes at every point. This direction change is possibly due to the force acting on him. Thus the motion of the athlete in the circular track is accelerated motion
