The two types of roots are Taproots and Fibrous roots.The types of cotylendons are dicot and monocot.

Taproots are long and thick and have secondary roots emerging from that root.Dicots have the tap roots.

Whereas, Fibrous roots are many roots of the same size each with the secondary roots. Monocots have fibrous roots.
