By volume of all solid it can be measured by immersion, that is, by introducing it into a liquid and measuring the volume of it that it displaces. This requires a graduated container that can be a test tube, for example.

The volume of the regular solids can also be determined from the mathematical expressions appropriate to the symmetry of each of those solids.

The regular solids have proper length of their sides.By determining their lengths, there are many mathematical formulas and expressions from which we can easily calculate their volumes.

For irregular solids we can use the simple Archimedes Principle.Immerse the solid in water and then calculate the volume of water displaced by it.The volume of water displaced by it is the volume of that solid.
