Xylem and phloem. Plants have two transport systems to move food, water and minerals through their roots, stems and leaves. These systems use continuous tubes called xylem and phloem, and together they are known as vascular bundles.

The water and minerals present in soil in solution form are taken up in cells of root hair and then in other neighbouring cells and then in xylem cell of root the loss of water through surface of leaf during transportation help in absorption and upward movement of mineral salt solution this excreting force due to transpiration pull
