There are many advantages of artificial insemination over natural mating, for example:

- It saves from the spread of genital diseases such as vibrosis.

- No wastage of semen.

- A healthy record can be maintained

- It saves you a cost of keeping a herd or its maintenance

- More chances of precision and accuracy than in natural mating
