How butane formed from but-2-yne. explain with equation

Explanation:

Unsaturated hydrocarbons are converted in saturated by hydrogenation.

but-2-yne+H2 gives butane by free radical mechanism.I mean H2 ist breaks into 2 H free radicals n they attach to but-2-yne to release the product.But as there is the presence of triple bond so first hydrogenation will liberate double bond and further hydrogenation of which gives out alkane.i.e;butane.

By Catalytic Hydrogenation, ALKYNES are converted to ALKANES.

First an alkene is formed which on further hydrogenation gives the alkane.
