How can a homogenous mixture not be called a pure substance?

Milk is an example of a homogenous mixture but milk is not pure as it is a mixture of fats, proteins and many other substances. In homogenous mixtures even though the substances are mixed in a certain ratio they are still a mixture of substances. Therefore homogenous mixtures can not be called a pure substance.

A Pure substance is an individual whose elements cannot be separated further. It has fixed composition and it may occur in any state i.e.solid,liquid,gas. therefore pure substances cannot be by any physical or chemical method
           The compounds of Homogeneous mixture can be separated by physical or chemical. Homogeneous mixture is a physical combination of substances in which pure substances retain there chemical properties
