this works like this
- a farmer grows a crop, say wheat
- wheat uses the soils nitrogen for its growth
- after growing wheat the farmer wants to plant rice
- but rice needs lot of nitro for growths which is already used by wheat
- so before planting rice the farmer plant beans
- the beans plant has the rizopus bacterium in its roots which replenish the nitrogen content
- plants like beans are called leguminous crops
