How can excess fertilizers in ground water enter the food chain?

This phenomenon is called Biomagnification or biological magnification.

=> When fertilizers are used in excess in ground water, the crops grown are consumed by herbivores which are then ultimately eaten by carnivores.

=> Thus the toxic chemicals pass on from one trophic level to other.

Thus they enter the food chain

Excessive use of fertilizer in crops when we irrigate crops it washed away and moved to water resources and kill animals because animals also drink water from that water bodies only so it affects food chain
