How can I choose valency of Nitrogen as 3- or 5+ Need a proper answer.Dont answer silly​

In practise, the valency of Nitrogen should be both 3- & 5+. But donating 5 electrons will take more energy than receiving 3 electrons.

Hence, the actual valency of Nitogen will be 3-.

The nitrogen atom has 5 electrons in the outermost shell, so either it can accept 3 electrons Or lose 5 electrons But since it is a Non metal with Small Nucleus and can't hendle energy lose hence it can not donate electrons But can Gain electrons.

Hence Valency of Nitrogen is -3
