Adding AgNO3 to the second complex, a pale yellow PPT of AgBr is obtained and thus they are differentiated.

You can also react both of the compound with the same reagent. Thus, in the first case when you react with BaNO3 only the first compound give you a white precipitate whereas in the second case there would be no white ppt.
