if acid is poured on the blue litmus it changes to red colour
if Base is poured on it then it will not show any colour change it will be soapy to touch
if water is poured on the litmus it won't show any colour change

If acid is poured on blue litmus, it changes to red.
If base is poured on this litmus, which has turned red just now, it will turn blue..So we understand that the remaining solution is water.
or
If water is poured on the litmus which has turned red, it will remain the same...So we understand that this is water and the remaining one is base.
