Hi there,

Outcome

jee mains percentile of 99.36

Boards 95%

jee advanced 7448 rank (gen. category)

So i am eligible for your answer

STRATEGY(for you)

First of all purchase previous year book for both jee mains and boards u can also download it but it is better to purchase it.

For BOARD EXAMS you are supposed to study NCERT textbooks.

90–95% of the question paper of CHEMISTRY in JEE Main is set directly from NCERT. So, if you read both the 11th and 12th NCERT textbooks of Chemistry religiously, you should be able to handle the JEE paper astonishingly.

For MATHEMATICS if you solve EXEMPLAR textbooks(11th, 12th) along with the usual NCERT textbooks plus one more objective textbook(Arihant, FIITJEE study material ,etc.), you will be able to do 80–90% of the paper very well.

For PHYSICS if you solve HC Verma along with the EXEMPLAR and NCERTtextbooks, you will be able to do 75–80% of the paper very well.

NOTE - While studying NCERT, EXEMPLAR, HC VERMA, etc. you must achieve a fair grasp of concept also.

You must practice tests, so buy a test-series online. Or, you may solve the question banks of JEE Main, which are easily available online.

The above step would give you a good exposure of problems asked in JEE Main.

EXAM STRATEGY (MOST CRUCIAL)

This is going to decide 50% of your score after you enter the exam hall.

Be confident. Feel like you know everything and it’s your day.

A good player always hits a bad ball, but ducks in case of a bouncer.

Shootout the easy ones firstly, this will ensure your selection in JEE, for better ranks, go for the tough ones later.

In order to get a decent rank, you needn’t do the whole paper. This picture should clear all your questions regarding exam-strategy in JEE.

Don’t rush up, but be accurate at the same time.

Start with Chemistry and get done with it in 40 minutes.

Then, you have enough time left for Maths and Physics.

Try to attempt 45 questions and make sure you get correct answers for all these questions.

At the end try to do 5–10 questions more.

→ You can easily score well if you make a good strategy.

RESPECT YOUR STRENGTH

This is not the time for the candidates to study any new area or the area that they are weak at.

Concentrate on subjects and chapters you are confident about

Try to do maximum questions from these chapters and make it stronger

The idea should be that you should not lose marks especially on the medium or easy questions from this chapter.

Solving Mocks

Many suggest that you should use this time to solve mocks every day, but I would suggest that you could solve one mock every three days and more than solving it is important to analyse the concepts where you went wrong and not making the same mistakes again.

After each chapter revision, you could concentrate on questions from that chapter which has been in previous year JEE Main papers. When you are solving the mock, make sure that you take it as seriously as the actual JEE Main exam and solve it in the given time.

So, make sure that you are not disturbed and the environment is also such that as it is going to be in the actual date. This would reduce your anxiety on the exam date.

Balancing Subjects

What should I concentrate more out of the three subjects?

This is a repeated question which students ask every year, and my answer has always been, now is the time to concentrate on your favourite subject.

Since the exam is equally divided between the three subjects, and the idea is to score maximum marks, concentrate on your favourite subject in the exam and try to improve your score.

Remember, your mantra should be to score more.

Do not discuss

Do not discuss your preparation strategy with your peers during this time. Each one would have a different strategy and don't get swayed by others' strategy. Make your own and stick to it. Discussing your preparation with others would make you lose your self-confidence. Remember your mock scores do not matter, what matters is the final score of JEE Main, which is just another day.

Sleep well & relax

Do not forget to sleep well during this period; take healthy food (avoid packed or outside food) - you don't need any sickness during this period and relax.

Don't study long hours, take small breaks, don't worry about time table going awry; just relax and start afresh.

Hope it helps
