In Past Perfect Tense we mention two events of action using 'before' and 'after'.
Use of 'before' :
First event or action + before+ latter or second event or action.
Example-
The train had left before I reached the station.
Here we have mentioned the first action first and then used 'before'
Use of 'after' :
Second event or action + after + First event or action.
Example-
I reached the sation after the train had left.
