air pollution by industries can be reduced by using smokestacks fitted with inertial separators ,  scrubbers , electrostatic precipitators etc.. it can also be reduced by using gas or oil fuel like natural gas and petroleum to run the machines instead of using coal which produces a lot of smoke.
