How can kinetic energy mot change when velocity changes?

we know that. KE=1/2mv^2
Hence it implies that
KE is dependent on v which is velocity

kinetic energy=(mv^2)/2
so,by formula, kinetic energy is directly proportional to mass and velocity of the body
so as the velocity increases or decreases kinetic energy also increases or decreases.
