In universe atoms and molecules are were made before matter. different elements were made form this and ultimately compound were formed. these reacted with others to form complex compound ,salts and minerals and in long period of time they became strong rocks orbiting their parent star.

These rocks that u watches in universe are called "astroids".
These look like that they are flying because of the gravitational force. Some says that there is zero gravity there but it cannot be accepted.
