How can saturated and unsaturated hydrocarbons be differentiated on the basis of combustion.

saturated compounds give blue flame.they burn with complete combustion. they are less exothermic. they don't result in pollution.

unsaturated give black sooty flame. they burn with incomplete combustion. they are more exothermic.they result in pollution by emition of c02.

HEY MATE....

Saturated hydrocarbons gives blue clean flame on combustion.
and unsaturated hydrocarbons gives yellow
sooty flame with black smoke on combustion
