Science is not just text and theories in the books. It is a collection of conclusions, based on our observations and theories. It has helped us from early age (as for example - we observed that round things can easily move). It helped us to evolve in all fields. It took centuries for us to get so much of information, to know about what's really happening around us and why is it happening. And it hasn't stopped yet, we still know a bit about our universe. This means that we have more hope in the future.
Science can certainly help us in the future. It can lead us to a whole new concept of everything. It can help us find new roads in every field - medical, engineering, bio-engineering, computer hardwares & softwares, gaming & technology, networking & communication, astronomy, universal science, textiles & industries, car designing, genetic science, exobiology, space biology, maybe we find new species of life....You name it, we claim it. There are many many disadvantages of science too, i'll not describe them here but you can always remember the Bhopal Gas Tragedy, the bombing at Hiroshima Nagasaki, deadly aeroplane crashes, nuclear leakage resulting into earthquakes, tsunamis and what not! You have to pay the price for everything.
(This is just my opinion, it totally depends on you if you want to take them into consideration. My statements may or may not be true.)
