A solenoid is just a coil of wire, but when you run a current through it, it becomes an electromagnet. Stationary charges produce electric fields, but moving charges produce magnetic fields. This allows us to create an electromagnet by running a current through a wire.

it is a long coil containing a large number of the close terms of the copper wire magnetic field lines inside the solenoid are parallel to each other due to which the strength of the magnetic field is uniform inside the solenoid. one of the current carrying solenoid behave as a North Pole and the other end of the South Pole it can be demonstrated by using the face clock rule
