Volcanoes are classied in three types on the basis of their activity. On the basis of their activity means that their periodicity of eruption. that is whether they erupt frequently or occasionally or they never erupt. the types are:
=>ACTIVE VOLCANOES: An active volcano is the one which has erupted in the recent geological Ages and have the chances of erupt again. For example - MT.Vesuvius, Italy.
=>DORMANT VOLCANOES: A dormant volcano is the one which are quiet but can erupt in future. A dormant volcano is sleeping, but it could awaken in the future. For example- Mount Raimier, US.
=>EXTINT VOLCANOES:A volcano which has not erupted in the recent geological Ages and is not expected to eruot agaim. For example- MT. Kulal in Kenya
