how can u measure large distance using parallax method

hey frnd....
parallax method is used to find larger distance or the diameter of the objects at a larger extend.
for example... diameter of sun

in this method we put one sight on one corner n then just put that sight on another corner between which we want to measure length.
then we can find the angle at which we have to move the sight for seeing the other corner.
then we can find the length of diameter using the distance n angle.
