If the election process is not free or fair , people will not continue to participate in the exercise. People's participation in election is usually measured by voter turnout figures. In India the poor, illiterate and underprivileged people vote in larger proportion as compared to the rich and privileged sections.

(1) An Independent Election Commission :- In our country election are conducted by an Independent body.

(2) Popular Participation :- In India,the poor, illiterate and underprivileged people vote in large proportion as compared to the rich and privileged section.

(3) Acceptation of elections outcome :- In India,the result of elections are accepted.

(4)Regular election :- In India,the loK sabha and the vidhan sabha elections are held regularly after every five Years.
