How can we differentiate between terminating and non terminating decimals?

TERMINATING DECIMAL If remainder is zero then it is terminating . for eg 1÷5 = 0.2 Non TERMINATING DECIMAL (a) Recurring ( repeating ) Remainder does not get zero but any digits or number of digits are repeating . For eg 1÷ 3 = 0.333..... (b) Non Recurring ( non repeating ) eg 0.171771777.......
