How can we find out whether the electric current is flowing through a conductor without touching?

you can bring a compass near to it

the compass will show deflection because current carrying conductor is a source of magnetic field so due to either attraction or repulsion with the compass which basically contains a small magnet inside it will show deflection either due to attraction or repulsion based on polarity whether north or south
