Let's assume that we have been provided with a speed time graph and we need to find out the distance travelled by an object within a specified time interval.
In this cases, we can find distance by two ways:
- Simply finding out the area enclosed by the speed time graph within that time interval would give us the distance travelled. Distance = Area under v - t graph
- If speed versus time function is a standard function then we can also integrate that function with respect to time within that time limit and get the distance travelled.
