We can do so by taking the help from the Greenwich Meridian but we have to know the longitudinal difference between the two.
Example:-
If it is 12 noon at Greenwich, time in India:
We know that the time difference between 2 longitudes is 4 min. and IST is located at 82.5 longitude whereas that of Greenwich is 0 longitude.Hence, time difference = 82.5 * 4 = 330 min. or 5 hrs 30 min.
