So lets divide Social Studies into three parts,

HistoryAlways read the topic like a story.
At the end always make a list of all major events in a chronological order, from the beginning of the chapter to the end of it
.Now take a look at the questions given by your teacher or from past papers or by searching up the net.
By doing the above, you take a glimpse of what is being asked, now make notes of all major events mainly in 3 to 5 points.

Following the above you will have bunch of papers for all the chapters, Voila your very own notes.

2. Civics

Read the chapter.Make a list of the important laws, their year of enactment, their uses and their abbreviations.
Now take a look at the questions given by your teacher or from past papers or by searching up the net.
By doing the above, you take a glimpse of what is being asked, now make notes of all major events mainly in 3 to 5 points.

3. Geography
Read the chapter
. Loud and clear like a news reporter (Arnab Goswami / Barkha Dutt) and change your tone here and there
.Classify different rivers, soil, minerals, make a list of theirUsesPlace found /grown/exported toTemperature and soil typeMines and their stateAnother good way
