We can say that 'election process in India is free and fair ' because of the following:

1.In India the Election is conducted by an independent and autonomous Election Commission.It takes decisions on every aspect of the Election process starting from he announcement of the date of elections till the declaration of its results.

2.People's participation in the elections that is the voters turn out have increased in India.The mass participators are the poor and disadvantaged.This indicates that elections are free for all and are conducted on fair basis.

3.The election results are accepted by all as it bought about change in the government with ruling parties
