yes photosynthesis is basic energy source because by photosynthesis plant prepares food and stores in storage tissue that we eat and the ate material will convert into glucose and enter into cell and gives us energy that is why photosynthesis is basic energy for life

because due to photosynthesis plant produce food for them and grow. growing of plants gives us fruits vegetables etc. so if there are no plants there is no food and if there is no food then the humans will die out of hunger.
