How can we use bacteriophage as vector?

Bacteriophages act as a vector because they have the ability to replicate within the bacterial cells and they provide the origin of replication. If we link an alien piece of DNA with the bacteriophage and multiply it, then we can get the equal number to the copy number of bacteriophage.
