Humans build machinery that give out lots of carbon. Examples being cultivating livestock, powering generators, and using cars The carbon goes into the atmosphere and finds it easier to let light in than out dramatically changing the temperature of the planet.
The light gets in the atmosphere bounces off the surface but because of increased carbon more light is trapped in. This heats up the planet which leads to increased Tornadoes and hurricanes along with with fluctuations in weather(like lack of snow one winter where it's common to have blizzards).
It also leads to increased thunderstorms. Since rain "cleans out" the atmosphere it will lead to acid rain by picking up pollutants in the air.
Since the global temperature has increased there will also be increased droughts. Acid rain, tornadoes, hurricanes, and droughts all lead to destruction of farmland and the environment.
