Explanation:

Bangladesh standard time (BST) is UTC(+6:00) where as Indian Standard time(IST) is UTC(+5:30) and thus there is a 30 minute gap in the timings of two countries. This is due to a fact that time zones of different locations, countries etc is based on their respective longitudinal position.

India spreads along two different zones ie; UTC+5:00 and UTC+6:00 but despite this fact, India wish to move ahead with the same time in all parts of the country and thus came up with UTC+5:30, the average of above two. And Bangladesh comes under the UTC+6:00 and they decided to have that as their standard time.

The standard time of Bangladesh with India

Explanation:

  • As the Indian standard time is the IST and is a type of a UTC and is +5.30 time zone offset and that of Bangladesh is UTC i.e +6.30 time zone and the difference in them is only one hour and thirty minutes. Which means that bangladesh is always ahead of the Indian standard time.
  • As Bangladesh and neither India have the daylight time saving and thus has a 30 minutes gap.  As Indian lies of 5.30, it is in the balance as through the country a similar or universal time is being followed and thus this drifts through the country.
