To convert ethanol to ethene hard heat the ethanol at 443K in the presence of Conc. Sulphuric Acid then ethanolbecomes dehydrated and formsethene and water. (Mention the temp. above the arrow and catalyst concentrated

darshmoradiya: Ethanol can be converted toethene in presence of concentrated sulphuric acid. It is called as dehydration reaction. b)Ethene can be converted toethane by addition of hydrogen molecule. It is known as hydrogenation reaction.

Ethanol can be made by reacting ethene (from cracking crude oil fractions) with steam. A catalyst of phosphoric acid is used to ensure a fast reaction. Notice that ethanol is the only product. The process is continuous – as long as ethene and steam are fed into one end of the reaction vessel, ethanol will be produced.
