Dear User!

A common method used to measure poverty is based on the income or the consumption levels. A person is considered poor if his or her income or consumption level falls below a given "minimum level" necessary to fulfill his or her basic needs. For our basic needs, money and food are the most important of all. The minimum income for a person living in a rural area is Rs.328 per person whereas it is Rs 454 for every person living in the urban areas As the poverty line is also based on the minimum calorie intake. so, for India, the accepted average calorie intake varies from urban to rural areas. It is 2400 calorie per person per day in rural area as compared to 2100 calorie in the urban area.
