in a plane mirror we use law of reflection to find the image position

As per law of reflection

angle of incidence = angle of reflection

so we can say

the perpendicular distance of object from the mirror = perpendicular distance of image from the mirror

so in order to locate the image of an object in plane mirror we use this concept that first we will find the object distance in perpendicular direction of mirror and then locate is virtual image in opposite direction of mirror at same perpendicular distance from the mirror.
