To do so, you must select the desktop from which you will be moving an app. But you can't drag and drop an app (at least not yet). Instead, right-click the app you wish to move. Then, choose Move to and desktop you want from the pop-up menu that appears.

In case the setup file is missing, this can be done to transfer the software:

  1. Right-click on the app (say Blender) shortcut and click open file location.
  2. Go back to a folder by clicking the previous location in the location bar.
  3. Now, copy the main folder of the program either by the drop-down menu or by pressing Ctrl+C (to copy) or Ctrl + X (for cut).
  4. Now paste the folder in the desired location (can be an external storage device, here it's an external hard drive).
