In an acidic solution
Like for eg :
When we mix HCL with water the HCL ions seperate into H+ and CL-.
Then when we add this acidulated water in a circuit (simple cell) .When the electricity is passed through the acidulated water the ions carry them from anode to cathode .
In this way it is said that acidulated water conducts electricity due to the dissociation of ions (which occurs in strong acids only). Therefore it conducts electricity.
Hope it helps.

The procedure to be followed by a solution of acidic conduct electricity is:
- Acidic and alkaline solutions can transmit electricity because they have ions free to carry.
- Look at the formulas for these acids.
- They all contain H + ions.
- When the acid is purified the concentration of H + ions decreases and the pH rises to 7.
- Acidic solutions run on electricity and basic solutions do not.
- Both acidic and water-based solutions carry electricity.
- Acids, when dissolved in water release H + and foundations when dissolved in water release OH-ions.
