Hola mate ❤️!!

We can prove the presence of carbon by following steps :

1) burn the given substance

2) collect the gas from the burning substance

3)Pass the gas through lime water

4)if lime water turns milky it shows that there is carbon present in the substance

Hope it helps you ☺ ❣️!!

Answer:

The most effective way to test for CO² is to bubble the gas through "lime water", a diluted solution of calcium hydroxide (slaked lime). When you bubble carbon dioxide through the solution, it forms a solid precipitate of calcium carbonate – chalk or limestone. Calcium carbonate is insoluble in water.
