How can you show that a sounding tabla is vibrating?

When we play tabla we can perform a activity to show that the Tabla is vibrating just put some grains on the vibrating surface of tabla and hit the Tabla slowly you will notice that the grains are vibrating

The thump on the membrane of tabla causes vibration which can be proved  

when we pace a coin over it after a thump and it feels like dancing up and  

down with small amplitude.
