how can you show with an activity the presence of water in blue copper sulphate crystal

heat the crystal .it turns white.tjia tells us the colour is due to the presence of water

By adding a little bit of HCl and heating it, the presence can be tested
While heating if vapour is formed in the test tube and the blue crystal turns white, then the sample is hydrated
Which means its Copper Sulfate Penta hydrate [CuSO4 . 5H2O]
