hey frnd.....
Cell was first discovered by Robert Hook in 1665.
Robert Hooke with the help of primitive or ‘not that advanced’ microscope observed the cork of a tree (stories say oak tree), it has all its cells dead and observed box like structures which appeared to him a cells of jail. Thus he named those structures CELLS.

A person named ROBERT HOOKE discovered the cell (this is what i remember from my previous class).he probably looked into a cork and found small rooms or chamber like the ones found in a honeycomb. He continued his research and finally named them 'CELL'
