Cells are the basic unit of life like bricks are for buildings.
Cells => tissues => organs => organ system => organism 
So directly cells forms organisms.

cells are truly the basic structures of all living organisms.It is the structural and functional unit of life of all living organisms as it is the smallest unit of life capable of performing all living functions....it further forms tissues which further form organs and these organs together with tissues form our body.So cells are actually the building blocks of all the organisms.
