Answer:Dual government was introduced by Robert Clive in Bengal in 1765 and it was continued till 1772.In 1765, the Company got the rights of the Diwan, viz., the rights to collect revenue and dispensation of civil justice for Bengal, Bihar and Orissa from the Mughal emperor. ... Because of this division of authority, the rule in Bengal between the period 1765-1772 has been called the “Dual Government the system of Dual Government was introduced in Bengal by Robert Clive of British East India Company. This system remained in practice during the period from 1765 to 1772. The Nawab and his officials had the the responsibility of administration but not the power to discharge it.The dual government of bengal establish two steps of government functions~ (1)The company took the right to control army, judiciary,and revenue.
