Civil Rights Movement was a movement led by Martin Luther King Jr., which aimed to abolish legal racial discrimination, and was peacefully carried out. Its duration was from 1954-68
On the other hand, the Black Power movement had the same aim, but was a more militant anti-racist movement, using violence as a means to end racism in the US as well. It emerged in 1966 and ended in 1975.
