how come plants eating called vegetarian as we do kill them and eat

We don't actually kill them. We take their vegetative parts such as roots, leaves, stem, fruit etc. in our diet.
And the word vegetarian derives from the word vegetable

No matter we are killing the thing and eating this will not determine Vegatarian and non vegeterian...plants are called vegetables and.... vegetables eating animal are called vegetarian and fleshes are not vegetables so, flesh eating animals are called Non vegetarian.
