in 1600s British East India company established its first factory in Surat, Gujarat. after that it slowly slowly influenced the people ,of course the British had small army but they had technology and good collecton of weapons.and in other hand there was lack of such technology in india ,for example rifles, guns !!
Indian revolutionary used to fight with their customary weapons which was not good in comparison with weapons of the Britishus.
and there was lack of cooperation among the indians .we only could say that British technology or approach to influence the Indians /and that was something that made them successful to exceed their empire in India.

Answer:
In 1600s the British East India company came to Gujarat and established their first factory at Surat. After, their trade spread all over India. They were opposed by ruler of Bengal Siraj-ud-duala. They fought first battle in India. After, the Battle of Plassey and Buxar , they slowly started to conquer other regions of India. The Britishers introduced many policies in India that acted as slow poision for Indian rulers. They conspire against the Indians ruler and slowly-slowly ruled over India with small army. Actually, the Britishers were able to rule India only due to their diplomatic policies which were actually a conspiracy.
